(M)an: Dude! Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has invested all
his energy to widening his political control over the most populous Arab
country right now.
(D)ude: Man! What do you think went awry? Are American
legislatures responsible for the parallel corruption happening here and in
Egypt?
M: Dude! The Arab Spring flourished when the Democrats
controlled the House and the Senate and President Obama was newly-elected and
brilliantly going about the issues of the day by saving the American automobile
industry and an exhaustive list of to-do items. But when the 2010 midterms came
around, and people had become accustomed to expecting veracity and
forthrightness that the Obama Administration demonstrated in its handling of
progressive reforms like healthcare coverage for all Americans regardless of
socioeconomic constraints on individuals like us.
D: Man! The 2010 Tea Party influx within the Republican GOP
was nothing new?
M: Dude! No! Far from new, the influx was mounting to what
it is today since the times of Ronald Reagan and that presidency’s
obstructionist rewrites of everything pertaining to equal opportunity, like
terming affirmative action as reverse discrimination.
D: Man! That’s the mentality that got us here in the
dungeons of the draconian world of conservative cheats! President Obama, popularly
reelected by an indefatigable electorate who withstood the obstacles set before
them to cast their ballots , and angry protesters standing up for Texas women
by taking a stand alongside their official spokesperson and elected official
Wendy Davis.
M: Dude! First, you’ve got President Morsi and the
Obstructionist Congressional Republicans wanting no more than to continue
fighting for political control with total disregard for the economic issues
needing to be addressed. Second, you’ve got jobs crises in both countries due
to Morsi and Congressional Republicans not wanting to address such an issue for
fear of reducing their chances to line their pockets with an endless cash flow
from international unrest and eventual chaos.
D: Man! If Governor Rick Perry and the Texas GOP follow in
the sneaky footsteps of other Republican Party-run state legislatures that have
resorted to passing legislation at odd hours of the night for fear of social
protests and have the nerve to address voters as troublemaking anarchists, I
consider that concrete evidence that the Republican Party has moved to yet
another level of corruption only seen in places like the ones where Kentuckian
Senators Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell manage to visit or disregard entirely.
M: Dude! It’s time to get out our orange tees and head out
to Austin for the July 9th Texas Senate special legislative session.
I’m concerned about the committee meeting being held today. Have you heard
anything yet about what happened with regards to that quote unquote committee meeting?
D: Man! I think the House Committee passed the abortion bill
around midnight.
M: Dude! What? No!
D: Man! That’s what a lot of the news sources are reporting
online, of course!
M: Dude! The national and local media did not televise Texas
State Senator Wendy Davis’s 11-hour filibuster. Yet, thanks to streaming video
on the Internet, hundreds and thousands of people across the United States
tuned in nevertheless.
D: Man! Doesn’t CSPAN cover everything as a nonpartisan
channel?
M: Dude! Nonpartisan is antiquated! It used to roam the
earth with bipedal parrot dinosaurs!
D: Man! You mean to say that nonpartisanship never existed
amongst humanity?
M: Dude! Yes, creationists and ecologists only agree to that
extent, rather reprehensibly too.
D: Man! To be on the same side as Bobby Jindal and Marco Rubio
and Jeb Bush would be reprehensible. And to add to the fury, Governor Rick
Perry’s denouncing and demeaning Wendy Davis’s life’s circumstances is just
outright revolting.
M: Dude! Have you ever seen Governor Rick Perry in public?
D: Man! The guy made a pass at my great-grandmother once
upon a time. Governor Rick Perry probably could violate any woman with his sleazy
eyes! My great-grandmother felt so sick to her stomach that day that she had to
return home and confess Rick Perry’s sins to a neighboring Catholic priest!
M: Dude! You’re great-grandmother was compassionate and
ecumenical. I admired her.
D: Man! The Republican GOP wants to end preventative
universal healthcare and yet they furiously insist on defending the life of an
unborn child?
M: Dude! It is preventative universal healthcare for all
Americans under the Health Care Affordability Act! But I think the 40 million
plus Americans functioning without healthcare will find strength with
structure.
D: Man! These Republican lawmakers ought to study the hard
statistics about motherhood and criminality because sexual violence-
specifically rape- still goes unreported 75 to 95 percent of the time.
M: Dude! Rape crisis centers will be unable to discuss the
possibility of pregnancy when counseling victims of sexual violence. Reminds me
of the stories coming out of the protests happening in Egypt about women being
sexually assaulted and violated repeatedly due to the mob scenes outside.
D: Man! There is a methodical end to democracy in the United
States taking place here that needs to be addressed before our sisters and
mothers and wives are subjected to the horrors of black market reproductive
services in wake of the closing down of Planned Parenthood Clinics throughout
Texas and the United States beginning this year.
M: Dude! We have to vote these GOP bipedal parrot dinosaurs
out of office ASAP!
