Man! Dude! Session #162

(D)ude: Man! The nineteen firefighters who died in the Yarnell Hill, Arizona wildfire yesterday deserved better materials in their safety devices. Called fire shelters, these last resort devices require that the firefighters dig trenches to fully implement the effectiveness of what are otherwise metallic body bags with layers of fiberglass, aluminum foil, and silica.

(M)an: Dude! It took US twenty-five years to come out with an alternative upgraded version of the fire shelter, which is still overly simplistic and backwards.

D: Man! That’s what happens when Republican leadership infiltrates state legislatures. Like, right now, we have Republican Governor Jan Brewer, GOP Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake in Arizona addressing the tragedy with perfunctory clichés and downright ambiguity that makes me suspect guilt.

M: Dude! Jan Brewer, John McCain, and Jeff Flake don’t have the capacity for guilt. Rather, they are so murderously obstructionist that they are willing to enforce Sequestration and Economic Mediocrity upon the American electorate.

D: Man! They are racially charged in their intentions. They align themselves with corporations and the private sector while plummeting the middle and working classes, especially minorities that have been dealt the severest setbacks with the Supreme Court’s upsetting federal government oversight in favor of the states dealing with voter registration and identification cards.

M: Dude! I think Donald Trump would do a whole lot of good for this great nation by going after Justice Clarence Thomas’ academic records. I still suspect that Clarence Thomas was unable to nail the style of presentation required of latter-day progressives like the Democratic Party’s chief representatives.

D: Man! You think Clarence Thomas is an inadequate?

M: Dude! What else would propel him to such heights as being confirmed to the Supreme Court even after the revelation of his parasitic sexual misconduct?

D: Man! What about the inadequacy of John Boehner and his lowbred Republican House Caucus?
Boehner’s Caucus only knows how to skedaddle from the issues that cannot be dismissed as chicken feed. Although, I am pretty sure Representative Paul Ryan collects chicken feed in order to keep up with his waning veneer of “wonky” adroitness, fitting in several charts every Sunday with George Stephanopoulos or David Gregory that totally lack credibility and common sense.

M: Dude! Boehner’s Caucus’ flare-ups are incredible! They defy logic! It’s like the United States middle and lower classes are being held hostage intellectually. Interest rates on college loans are nearing 7% as of July 1st and a college education is being deemed optional by the Congressional Republicans. But do you see Rand Paul and Jeff Flake’s children being disciplined for their unimaginably brutish behaviors towards flight attendants and frighteningly derogatory language over the Internet?

D: Man! If Americans do not come out and vote in the midterm elections that are scheduled to begin this October and go on into the fall of 2014, then we’re basically going to be moving generations behind in the new millennium with the likes of Senators Rand Paul and Jeff Flake and Governor Chris Christie, all three of whom do not have any plans for reconciliation with women and minorities, instead following the recommendations of Heritage Foundation’s Jim DeMint and loyalist Newt Gingrich.

M: Dude! Everything is theoretical for the status quo. But, for those who strive towards physically making the world more accessible to all of Humanity, there is a heartbeat behind the hard work. Take the University of Manchester’s discovery of Graphene, for example, the two dimensional material discovered by engineers that could allow for thinner and thinner solar panels and lighter and lighter but stronger and stronger support to, perhaps, be used in place of steel film in industrial processes.

D: Man! Is it not economically feasible to use in, perhaps, advancing the makeup of those fire shelters that were unable to sustain the wildfire and keep 19 of our elite firefighters out of harm’s way?

M: Dude! The tragedy in Yarnell Hill, Arizona will not be the last. Climate changes in recent years only substantiate studies by scientists into the phenomenon known as global warming. It is caused primarily by Humanity and we have to invest in new materials to withstand the new physical challenges that are resulting out of what I like to call global warnings.

D: Man! You know about the investment in infrastructure going on right now here in Fort Worth?

M: Dude! Yeah? When are the highways going to be up and running? There are a lot of detours everywhere I want to drive and I have to anticipate long waits even at exits!

D: Man! There are highway problems in Fort Worth that have been attributed to inadequate contractors being hired who are pocketing money intended for the purposes of constructing the soundest structures for our burgeoning city. I think the southeast edge of Fort Worth is where an intersection in question is located. Randle D. Howard was the initial contractor sought but, thanks to the Texas Public Information Act, the local papers were able to pull up information of two additional companies that collaborated with R.D. Howard LLC of Fort Worth.

M: Dude! So, Randle D. Howard LLC of Fort Worth placed a bid that was effectively insufficient funding for the contract work placed?

D: Man! R.D. Howard LLC of Fort Worth basically bid $37,000 to win the contract, but then did not follow the rules and regulations put forth by the county, specifically that the bidder be the one to exclusively handle all of the workload.

M: Dude! That’s criminal, no?

D: Man! R.D. Howard LLC must be held accountable, I would think. It involves taxpayers’ funds. However, this is Governor Rick Perry’s Texas and Congresswoman Kay Granger and Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz were involved in gerrymandering and whatnot to become our representatives. But, then again, thank goodness for State Senator Wendy Davis! She’s our hope for change in the coming midterms!
