Since
the days of
Jawaharlal Nehru and
Quaid-i-Azam
The Partition of Indo-Pak
Senseless Colonial politics
Leaving behind warring siblings
In a land enriched
By the Indus River Valley
And looted by the English Monarchy
The jewels of the Maharajas &
Maharanis
Stashed away in the Tower of London
And adorned by Queen Elizabeth II
In company with Dupioni silk ensembles
That would be preferable upon
The inhabitants of South Asia
Cut and crafted for the designs
Termed by the West as indigenous
But
nothing less than sublime.
