Page 192: “Too Much Suffocation”
There is too much suffocation
Any form of declaration must be promulgated
If soundness does not awaken understanding
At least a certain amount of lamentation must be made acceptable, inescapable
The city’s poor remain clothed, but the city’s rich remain ungratified, insatiable
If facts are intact and reasonable, then there is plenty to dream about
Why feel dejected if few dreams yield futility?
Those philosophies that were foe to all households
Upon becoming executable, their legacy became devotional, reverential
However, upon coming into action alone, philosophies bring tranquility onto households
Their legacy becomes devotional, reverential upon the humaneness of households!
Dust storms are brewing here
Over there, people are pain ridden
From where shall the caravan of elegance emerge?
In this oppressive stretch, we the brave outspoken did the needed task!
And as for those who were proud to be the leading linguists designated by their cities’ households or not
Those, they turned out to be mute!
Sahir Ludhianvi (1921-1980). Translated from the Hindi-Urdu by Alverston & Associates.
In this oppressive stretch, we the brave outspoken Americans did the needed task: Registered & Voted for Clinton & Kaine 2016
